Security guards tied up as gunmen invade Anambra Catholic church
St Martin’s Catholic Church in Ihiala, Anambra State, has been invaded by gunmen who tied up safety guards after getting access to the church premises.  Punch reported that the incident which occurred on Thursday, November 17, is coming amid collection of feuds between the authorities of the church and a few involved residents of the neighborhood. Eyewitnesses informed the publication that the armed males suspected to be members of the Anambra Vigilante Group, had been led into the church premises by two Reverend Fathers, certainly one of them being the parish priest of a brand new parish created just lately by the Bishop of Nnewi Diocese. The eyewitness stated;  “The armed males, who wore black apparel and coated their faces, tied the safety males guarding the church and dispossessed them of their telephones.” Parish priest of the Church, Rev Fr Val Eze, confirmed the incident, including that the boys occupied the church premises until late at night time on Thursday.  Eze added that the invaders didn’t strategy the residence of the clergymen.
